Todd Edward Peck, deceased July 13, 2007, will be long missed and forever remembered. Todd was a blessing to all who knew him--especially to his parents, Robert and Charlotte Peck of Greensboro, NC; his brother, Tracy, and wife, Diane, of Greensboro, NC; his sister, Patricia Ware, and husband, Steve, also of Greensboro, NC; his niece, Stephanie Ware, of Raleigh, NC; his nephew, Alex Ware, of Greensboro, NC; his canine companion, Polly; and many, many friends.
Todd was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 27, 1964. He was raised in North Carolina and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UNC at Greensboro. He then moved to Athens, Georgia where he attended graduate school and earned a Master’s degree in Historic Preservation. He worked briefly at The Historic Preservation Center in North Carolina, but then acknowledged his love of the culinary arts and moved to Richmond where he became prominent in the restaurant business. Todd greeted patrons with his contagious smile at the Dogwood and Graffiti Grilles, and other fine dining venues.
He was a volunteer at the local animal shelter and loved pets--especially dogs. They also loved him. Todd was a devoted environmentalist and a passionate gardener. He saw life as art and embraced both. He was an inspired photographer and loved to travel--especially to Antigua. He approached life with a child’s spirit and an open heart.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at the First Unitarian Church on Blanton Avenue in Richmond, Virginia. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Hospice of Central Virginia, Richmond Animal League or simply plant a tree.
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” -Marcel Proust
